Default Propeller bolt upgrade 3/8" to 7/16"

I have a Lycoming 0-320 D3G (160 hp) with 3/8" prop bolts, what is the best way to upgrade to 7/16" ?
Is it acceptable to have 3/8" engine bolts and 7/16" propeller bolts?
Comments for/against OR alternative solutions gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.

I have ben told by Lycoming and several propeller manufacturers that this is acceptable and have been running this combination since May of 1993.

Saber Engineering will sell you some new prop flange bushes (http://www.sabermfg.com/bolts.htm), its relatively straight forward to press out the old ones and pull in the new - can be done with the engine in the airframe.

Thumbs up Propeller bolt upgrade

I have the same engine , and at over haul , before installation,I had the shop put new flanges in the hub so I could install the Sensenich prop that had 7/16 bolts . As suggested if you intend to use a prop that will be using 7/16 bolts , that?s what needs to be done. When I contacted Lycoming and Sensenich they offered no other solution , apart from change over of prop or engine. I should say I haven?t flown the combination yet , but I?m not expecting any issue. Good luck.
