I had forgotten about this thread. I never posted a pic of the panel after the ICP was constructed. This pic was from Oshkosh several years ago. It was always funny to watch former Viper drivers and see their reactions.

I always flew with the replica HUD in place, and never found it distracting. Sure wish it has been functional.

I believe the F-16 stuff was removed by the buyer soon after the sale.

Why the mirrors on the RV-8? Still paranoid about Hornet guys at your six?

Al-

Nice looking panel!
Curious about the bracket with connectors labeled "signal" and "power" behind the G3X screen - can you provide more details?

Thanks
Thomas

Default Power/Signal Plug.. Better pics soon...

Yep.. The center panel is removable...

Used two 24 Pin vibration resistant plug/receptacles.

One feeds all power and grounds..

Second for “Signals” (Audio/CAN)

As it turns out I have all the avionics except the two GSA28’s roll/pitch servos...
The GEA24 and GMU11 mounted on the main center panel.

So basically .. only audio in/out and CAN needed to come off the “Signal” plug

With lots of bothersome inquiries to the " Great Garmin Guru's" and one wiring error...

The result...

Default My RV8 IFR Panel... first flight went well, flight test schedule complete!

Garmin took me for a coupled ILS, procedure turn, then flew the missed approach today. Great kit!

Are you applying for LAA IFR approval for your -8 Darren?

Yes... I've already started the process and had favourable responses so far. It was desif=gned to be IFR from the start (apart from ADF and no known ice limits) so it has very robust backup power systems, and a comprehensive POH with detailed 'failure scenarios' added in the design phase.
