Default Anyone making masks with

VAF or Van's logo on the front? Would like re-usable (washable) a couple, or four -- (yes, I understand they would not meet N95 stds)

Stay safe, out there!

Ron

Default no need to shave

My hardware store staff all had bandannas on today. Looked like a mass bank robbery. VANS logo would have put me at ease.

I've been wondering how to rivet pieces of aluminum together to make a mask, but I don't think #40 drill holes would be small enough to keep the cooties out. I also don't like the idea of sealing the edges of the mast to my face with ProSeal. And, of course, there's always the issue of what kind of primer to use.

I saw an interesting article that said one of the best materials to make you mask out of is hydro spun shop towels.

I thought I'd mention that since its kinda related in keeping with the group.

We don't have a high-quality sharable version, sorry. I may have a file you could try with your own embroidery machine, but I cannot make any promises regarding quality and it would have to be for non-commercial use etc etc. Let me know via email if you want to try it.

We do have a fabric pattern underway, which unfortunately is not quite yet orderable. Should be soon. If people want, I can post the link here when it becomes available.

SIDEBAR: My friend Rion sent this info along, and we all have workshops, and some of our community has some free time available right now. So - if people want to make face shields, etc. to donate to our first responders and medical heroes locally, there are some great resources showing how and with plans/patterns:
Here is an open-source design, now being used by Ford, called the Badger Shield:

Production assistance, material suppliers, and more detail here:

There are DIY instructions and tutorials for simpler designs to be found online:
