Default Power Setting Tables For XIO-360MIB?

So All...... I have been looking around..

But have not been able to find... They gotta be out there...

The...

?Engine Power Setting Tables.. The typical ?Percentage Power with MP-RPM-Altitude? tables? for the VANS supplied XIO-360MIB.

Either a jpg or docx format so I can pull them into my POH.

Can anyone direct to or supply ..

I have a couple of charts for an IO-360-M1A that will probably work just fine for you. Send me your email and I'll send them to you.

It is really dead simple.

Create your own based on the following. And remember this, you do not need to be within a few % to be useful. Despite what some people will tell you.

When operating Rich of Peak EGT.

HP = Max rated x (MP/29.9) x (RPM/max RPM)

Example at say 8000' roughly WOT/2400 RPM and ROP, (22/30) x (24/27) = 65% of rated power


When LOP, with a standard compression ratio 8.5-8.7 : 1, take Fuel flow (USGPH) x 14.9 /rated HP

Example as above, WOT / 2400 RPM / 7.9GPH (and LOP)
14.9 x 7.9 = 118HP divided by 180 equals 65% power.
You would typically be doing this at 24.4" or around 5500', which if you were ROP would be 72%.

Rough numbers are good enough. In fact rather than 14.9 just use 15.

If you or anyone else tries to make it more complicated, you need to rethink what you are doing.

With RICHEST Cylinder EGT 30 degrees LEAN of Peak:
% Power MAP RPM Fuel Flow KIAS / KTAS
71% 22.9” 2600 8.6 GPH 144 / 165
70% 22.9” 2500 8.5 GPH 143 / 163
65% 22.6” 2400 7.8 GPH 138 / 157
60% 21.0” 2400 7.3 GPH 132 / 150

thanks for posting.

Similar speeds, fuel flow, configuration.

My numbers observed on Classic Skyview within normal scatter.

RV-7, Aerosport IO-360 M1, 2 x PMag (25 BTDC, but retarded 1 notch), BA Hartzell 72".

I think this is what you are looking for. It is a PITA since it attempts to amalgamate information for all IO-360 models (apart from the -M1A for some bizarre reason)

Some interesting figures there. I kinda use the 'kiss' method. Just fly my 8 and enjoy the ride looking after my engine at the same time with fuel WOT/2400 @8500' 33lph yields 153 kts IAS. I'm old school ROP, 40 years
