Default Aircraft current/power monitoring system

Hi Guys,
Continuing a thread I started a while ago:
http://www.vansairforce.com/communit...d.php?t=174158

After so many years designing / debugging electronic boards and systems(designed most of these: www.variscite.com ) , I highly appreciate the significance of monitoring the various current draws (Power consumption) of as many nodes as possible in our aircraft. It can give an ahead notice of possible failures such as :Fuel pump clogging, flaps engine issues, possible beginning of a shortage in lights , avionics...etc

It is not a question of if anymore, but a matter of how.
We are about to start the design which its main advantage is the ability to retro fit it to already wired aircraft and keeping possible collisions as low as possible to eliminate any risks.
For that, we will be using hall affect sensors such as http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1685541.pdf (There are smaller size ones)
to monitor the current draw and display it all on a dedicated LCD
We will of course use an extended/automotive grade components/ICs.

We intend to share this design as an open source of both the HW and SW.

Your opinions/notes/suggestions are highly welcome and appreciated.

Thanks
Oren

Default I currently measure the performance (amp-wise)

of my various systems using my regulated ground-power supply. I can turn on various systems, one at a time, and see the current draw. However, it would be nice to select various systems, while in flight, to see the current draw on my AFS or Dynon screen without having to turn off and on the systems.
