simpla backup AI
would like to find a backup electronic (non-mechanical gyro) AI which is not dependent on GPS signals or pitot/static data. Just a simple unit with electrical input only and backup battery Does such a device exist?

Dynon D3? It will be my tie-breaker.

It doesn't have pitot-static inputs. It does depend on its built-in GPS receiver.
D3 Dynon Pocket Panel:
"The D3’s Ground Speed, Altitude, Vertical Speed, and Ground Track (direction) instruments are GPS-derived. Their indications WILL BE DIFFERENT from the airspeed, altimeter, VSI, and heading instruments in your aircraft panel. The D3’s GPS-based indications should not be considered replacements for any of these primary aircraft instruments. Details about each of these differences are described in the Product Tour section of this guide." https://www.dynonavionics.com/pocket-panel.php

Yet to find one that works proper without an external AHRS such as Stratos or Levil or ICfly...

Just curious what your reasons are for avoiding GPS and/or Pitot/Static inputs?
The GRT series comes closest to what you are looking for, IMHO.
It's a big forum, someone will come along and have what you are looking for.....

AV-20
uAvionix AV-20 for $895, it does not require GPS, and has internal backup battery. But it does require pitot and static. I'm not aware of anything that exactly matches your specs (have been looking myself).

Bingo! the RCA2610 fits the bill. Unfortunately the $2,600 price (plus a backup batt) is out of my range just to avoid the pitot/static/GPS complexity. The fact that it's for certified aircraft may have something to do with it, and apparently a completely different technology. Possibly someone will come up with a more reasonable version for experimentals.
I guess GPS reliability is such that I shouldn't really be worried about it. It's more just a desire to 'keep it simple and uncluttered'.
