Default Brake and Wheel Upgrades

Am thinking through the brake/wheel options; cost vs performance.

I think this might be good: http://www.groveaircraft.com/rvwheel.html

Any downside? Does it require any wheel pant mods? What gets left off the finish kit?

I installed those Grove wheels and brakes on my RV7 5 years ago and they have performed perfectly with no altercations.

Grove makes excellent stuff. However, if they are to rich for your blood, you can improve the stock brakes with thicker rotors. Easy to do. See

The "how to" is on page 2

PS When deleting items from a kit, Vans only gives you 75% credit. It you will be deleting a fair $$ amount, better to not order the kit. Contact Vans to get a packing list for the desired kit. Then order what you DO need, ala carte.

I did the same Grove upgrade about 12 years ago, would do the same if I was building today.
The Grove is a significant step up in quality and stopping power compared to the Matco.
