Default Cracks in air cleaner mounting plate

At about 300 hours, I found cracks in the vertical induction air filter mounting plate around the four bolt holes. I think the original plate was 1/16" material. I made another plate of 1/8" aluminum and have not had any cracks since (now past 1000 hours).

The same thing happened to me with my RV-4. I had some .090 aluminum plate and used that to make a new plate and it worked well.
