Default Oil Consumption- a data point fwiw.

IO540 field overhauled with chrome cylinders. Great compression but oil control has been steady at 8 hrs / qt. Yes, my oil level is at 6 qts. Using aeroshell W100 plus. Changed over to Phillips XC 20-50 and the oil pressure is up 2 to 3 lbs at normal cruise and temp. Oil consumption has improved to 11 hrs / qt.
I don?t know if this is characteristic of chrome vs steel cylinders but is a pleasant result of my desire to use a non synthetic multi weight oil.
