The latest Blogspot blog entry is up; see link below. It seems long, but it's mostly pictures. Many many pictures. Speaking of which, here's the teaser photo:

I know. That's what I keep telling myself... and that's what's killing me. Started back today after a long layoff for my daughter's wedding and a staph infection. Well enough to use a respirator again, so I'm hoping to get some painting done soon.

Martin, I'm looking forward to seeing your plane at OSH. It looks like you're doing a great job. Keep grinding away at it!

Well, look at that.....
A fuselage, windscreen, landing gear, wheels and tires, tail wheel, engine with baffling, and, wait, what's that---- a human tow bar! Now where do I get one of those I wonder? Need to replace that dumbbell in the back with a tail of some sort and you will be flying in no time!
Looking great Marty. Sorry I missed you at Airventure this year but looking forward to seeing you IN your flying machine up there next year.

I'm hoping it will fly next year... but I'll need a LOT of practice before I'll be ready to fly it into OSH with confidence. Maybe by my second or third year of flying it... we'll see.

Martin,
You’re about a year ahead of me, so I’ve spent a bunch of time digesting your blog. Great job, btw!
Apologies if you’ve already addressed this, but I think your rudder cables are routed through the wrong holes in the center section bulkhead. I’m still fixing screw ups the previous builder did to my RV-8, and this was one of them. I think it’s a common error.
Here’s a pic from your blog with the correct hole circled. It gets opened up to 5/8”, but please verify both the hole position and size before proceeding. The hole next to it is for the 8A. There are matching holes in the aft center section bulkhead as well..
Here’s another build with the correct routing:
The routing is somewhat buried, but it is shown on plans page 64:

Good catch! More than a few folks have routed the rudder cables through the wrong holes. Here are some annotated drawing snippets that might also help:
