Default Garmin Database question?

My hangar partner and I are installing the new G series Navigators in our birds. Can we SHARE the pricey ($299) annual update subscription between the 2 units, or are we at the mercy of Garmin?

No, you can't share them. They are keyed to your receiver. It would be more than a little foolish of Garmin to allow that.

Does three hundred dollarydoos per year even count as "pricey"?

I guess I'm spoiled by the Seattle Avionics $100/yr. chart service for my AFS 5600's, which includes approach plates, enroute charts, sectionals and airport diagrams. No, the extra $25/mo. isn't going to break the bank, but if you have a stack full of Garmin goodies it can add up.

Default $300 = 0.3AMU = 6hrs flying (fuel)

But, the $299.00 is a "bargain" from Garmin!
