Flaps speed
Purchased a Rv7a recently with a Garmin g3x and is setup for Mph. All the planes that I have experienced shows in Knots.
The question I'm asking is what the Rv7a spec is rated as. Is the flap max extended speed 110 at 20 degrees in knots or mph. It makes a difference......
Thanks
Larry

My 2 cents
Vfe is 87kts. The white arc is 50-87 kts.

Have you considered changing the g3x to display knots?

Flap speed
I am considering to change to knots, but had to been sure if the vans website was in mph or knots. For a aircraft company, never seen it in mph, always in knots.
Vans spec shows 110 20 degrees 100 45 degrees but shows no mph or knots.
Thanks everyone for the info......

Vne (Redline)
As a new RV-7A owner, you may not be aware that Van's now states that Vne (Redline) is now stated in terms of True Airspeed (and not Indicated Airspeed).
So for the RV-7/7A, Vne is 230 MPH TAS (or 200 KTAS).
Note that with the Garmin G3X you can input Vne in terms of TAS, and the previous owner may have done that already.
Van's really needs to issue a Service Letter to update that critical safety-of-flight information for the older models, like they did for the RV-14s (by SL) and RV-12s (by POH).

I was unaware of that... is there something in written form that states that, coming from Vans?
Secondly... I question WHY?

Van's restated Vne in terms of TAS several years ago to ensure that proper flutter margins exist at altitude.
Although they published the "Flying High and Fast" article awhile back, that is not widely disseminated and certainly doesn't take the place of a Service Letter or Service Bulletin. They have never published a Service Letter for the older models like they have for the RV-14s, and changed the POH's for the RV-12s. They need to do that.
A table based on the Standard Atmosphere:
Here is a nice visual of where the 230 MPH TAS Vne is in terms of IAS at 9800 feet, from a screenshot of my Dynon SkyView Touch (SVT) in my RV-8. It does limit the downhill performance of the airplane.
