Well, problem is resolved. Unfortunately, never figured out what that problem was. Honestly couldn't tell you what I did differently, but I re-connected the cables after re-confirming continuity and signal not grounded, and the 430W acquired the satellites no problem this evening. Maybe I just wasn't getting the connector in quite right? Maybe something was loose, in which case, it may rattle it's way out again? Maybe it was as "doh" as Noel suggested and hooked to the wrong input? It is a little tough fumbling around under a slider panel, mostly progressing by feel. Whatever the case, I'll keep an eye on it. Still have quite a bit of cable length to cut down, so I'll probably take extra care with the new connectors (even if that wasn't the culprit). Anyways, thanks again, everyone, for the suggestions!
