OK, so I am a little late with this one. Parade was on Monday June 17, 2019.
A day off... what to do? Let's fly to the Raptors' Parade, says Shirley. Ok, says I.
We left Carp (CYRP) early Monday morning in our RV9A and arrived at the Toronto Island airport (I hate calling it Billy Bishop) just before 8 AM. A quick walk through the underground connection, we then made our way towards Nathan Pillips Square following the parade route. Found a good spot right on the curb, corner of York and Lake Shore. The crowds were already starting to thicken. Four hours later, a parade was in sight.
Returned to Ottawa (Carp) later in the evening after meetup with a friend, and a good Taco at 7 Lives in Kensington. Highly recommended.
1h20m each way. Toronto controllers were great to deal with.
