Default Cirrus Prop Control doe RV10

Flying Magazine had a good article regarding the Cirrus Prop control. Has anyone tried to duplicate this in an RV?
https://www.flyingmag.com/how-cirrus...-control-works
It must be patented but I wonder...

Personally I much enjoy running my engine at RPMs that aren't screaming and high power settings. 25"/2300 has been working great so far, and perfectly fine according to the Lycoming power charts. I'd go lower in RPM but I'd like to get a dynamic balance done as I feel a little vibration at lower RPM.

That?s interesting, I would have assumed it was more complicated than that.

Nah. Nothing wrong with the concept but I like having maximum control and the ability to dial up whatever MP/RPM combination I want. The work load reduction mentioned in the article is a joke as managing the blue knob ain't rocket surgery. Plus with our Lycomings the risk of hurting something by prop mismanagement is pretty minimal to non-existent IMO. YMMV....
