Default Gulf coast lunch

Flying the 10 from Michigan to San Marcos to see our son in April. We have never been out to the Gulf Coast and would like to fly somewhere to grab lunch and some views. Can you guys and gals in TX send some recommendations. We have flown to some of the great BBQ but looking to see the Gulf on this trip

Thanks
Gary

Texas Gulf Coast Regional Airport, KLBX, seafood restaurant on the field or Galveston KGLS and walk or Uber to few good places.

Default Galveston

Galveston KGLS would be an easy day trip from San Marcos. Was just there yesterday. Departed after lunch for about an hours flight. Second FBO just started Friday so they were very friendly and gas was reasonable. Didn?t really need gas but they were so nice I topped off. Lots of Uber available. Never waited more than 5 minutes. The Strand is the fun tourist area. We walked from there about 1.5 miles to Stewart beach to watch the waves and walk in the sand. Another Uber to a seafood restaurant overlooking the beach and then back to the airport. Home by 9 pm.

Another option is Mustang Beach KRAS and Uber to town.

Fly to Rockport. I can usually get the courtesy car but taxi is cheap. Eat at Charlotte Plumbers. It overlooks a marina. The view is best if you can sit upstairs. If the wx is nice they have outdoor tables upstairs as well.
