Default Wiring a single GTR 200B to two 460's

Trying to clarify my confusion....

Wiring One (1) Comm to two 10" screens.

If I wire up my only comm (GTR200B) per the G3x Installation manual page 29-3 Rev AE, "Single GTR20/GDU 460 Interconnect Drawing". It shows me connecting the Music and Audio (5 pins) to the GDU 460 Stereo & Audio. No problem there I get that.

The question is with the second MFD screen. Do I need to splice into the GTR pins and run to the MFD screen the same way.........or only connect to the PFD and the CAN BUS would communicate thru the PFD for the MFD?

Thx for any help.

Also meant to state that I'm not using a GMA 245 Audio in the Installation. Only the GTR 200B

Hello Ed,

Just connect the CAN bus to the GTR 200B and the mono alert audio from the PFD to the GTR 200B.

There is never a need to connect the stereo music audio from the GDU to the GTR 200/200B or GMA 245 unless you have a GDU 465/455 that has a built-in SXM music/weather receiver.

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

Do your comments above apply even if I plan to utilize an external GDL 51R for XM to both 460 screens?

Hello Ed,

Yes, when you connect a GDL 51/51R or GDL 52/52R to both displays, the stereo music feed will be direct from the GDL 5X to the GTR 200B.

In your installation, the alert audio from the PFD will go to the alert audio input on the GTR 200B and the stereo music from the GDL 51R/52R will go to the hardwired stereo music input on the GTR 200B, but you get the idea.

Thanks,
Steve
