I took great inspiration from Ron?s cart below, but not being able to find a cheap cart that wasn?t too big, I just used some left over kitchen to build mine. The drawers are very handy (they are 10mm ply), for stuff needed often but not every second. The drill bit holder and die holders are the best things ever - never have to search for a bit, and I?ve since removed some I don?t use and added reamers for an3 and 4 bolts. The air tools hang on a bit of PVC pipe with notches cut. I also now have a sandpaper holder on the side, and found 5lt olive oil cans are the best for clecos. Very handy having all the hardware boxes wherever I?m working. Thanks for the inspiration!

Great work, Trent! I really like the way you hung your air tools on a PVC pipe. Genius! Don't know about you, but building my tool caddy was a lot of fun. I hope others will post pictures of their tool carts and tool boards so we can all glean ideas from them.

Here are some shots of my shop. I too created a cut/sand/polish station out of an old TV stand I made as a kid that has followed me around in life. Also put castors on it so I can move around as needed. The table with the back rivet plate was built specific for this project, but the larger multipurpose table with all the parts on it was donated by a neighbor who was moving away.

For tools, I recently purchased the 30" mechanics cart from Harbor freight (which also has wheels) and its been made a huge improvement in shop operations. I was constantly fighting for table space space between tools and parts so to have something strictly for tools has made better use of my table space.

I decided early to make a block for keeping drilling articles organized and I'm glad I did. When a bit breaks or wears out, it gets replaced with a new one so I always only have 1 of every size in play at any time, but have plenty in the spare parts container. Dies/sets came with a storage block.

Agree - it helped to satisfy my OCD, but truly is helping my build I think. Almost never lose a tool these days!! The pipe was easy actually - a hole big enough to fit the whole connector, and another a little bigger than the diameter of the ?valley? on the connector - drillled at 90 degrees. I then just used a dremel to join them together.

Don't forget IKEA sometimes has some awesome tables for the workshop. My sanding and buffing station was a mobile butcher block table from Ikea for $60.
