Default Wheel & tire changes from Finish kit...

I'm just about to order my Finish kit and, having thoroughly considered the options, decided to go with the standard main wheels and upgrade to Airstop tubes and either Air or Aviator tires.

Nosewheel-wise, I'm planning to use the Matco axle and spacers.

My remaining questions:
  • Given the Airstop tubes, should I still plan to change the kit nosewheel for the NW511.25 in order to address valve stem clearance issues?
  • Any opinions on Air vs. Aviator tires?
  • Any concern on either of those tires properly fitting the wheel fairings?
  • Is the same tire size used on all three wheels?

So, no thoughts on the wheel/tire situation?

The main benefit of switching the nose wheel and axle is being able to torque it all down properly without locking up the wheel so I would do that regardless of any tube/tire changes.

The kit includes 3 tires all the same size. (The alternate Matco nose wheel also uses same)

Since you asked.

I'd go with Grove wheel/brakes for one simple reason. They use an off-the-shelf wheel bearing, believe its the same as used in 80's vintage Camaro. So a wheel bearing change is just a few bucks.
