remote radio installation location

question has anyone located a remote comm radio behind the center section of an rv-7 or 9? thinking of vertical on the bulkhead behind the seats. just above the rudder cable this would be to get fewer wires passing through the center section and fewer wires behind the panel have a grand rapids hxr planned on a tray above the rudder pedals but thinking all the wires have to go behind the canter section anyway so why no put the radio behind the center section. thinking trig radio
