Default N127KT The Dirty Bird flies

On Tuesday October 16 N127KT The Dirty Bird flew for the first time. What a rush! First flight had a couple of squaks that were easily taken care of and the second flight went amazingly well!!!

It was just a few weeks shy of 8 years of building to get to this point.

A few specs:

RV8
Showplanes Fastback
Showplanes Cowl
200hp IO-360 built by Barrett Precision Engines with the Proteck EFII
Whirlwind 74HRT
Grove airfoil gear
G3X
FlyLEDs
JD Air tail wheel
many more awesome vendors

Empty weight 1035

Thanks all for the advice and encouragement along the way and a special thanks to DR for helping to make my dream of building and flying my own plane a reality.

Keep pounding those rivets!!!!!

Default Very nice.

WOW....Congrats for sure.......8 yrs....but worth it today!
Love the look of the Showplanes fastback and cowling.....the 74HRT is pretty too.

Question if you will....
Any issues with fitting the HRT74 and the Showplanes cowling, if so, how did you address them?
Meaning, does the prop contact the cowling when rotated full or coarse pitch?
Thanks
Bob

No issues fitting the prop and there are no clearance/contact issues with the showplanes cowl and the prop.
