Default Looking for a better gascolator

I began my gascolator install today on my Rv7. I know there is an ongoing debate if one is really necessary for the tail dragger but I mainly want it for the filter. Upon taking the vans unit apart I found it to have very little filter surface area. I would like to find something with a better filter, easy retrofit in the stock vans location and at a good price of course. I looked at the Andair unit which has a nice filter, a little pricy though.

I should have looked at it a little closer, the vans gascolator does have a machined groove under the screen giving it a better surface area. I will probably use it unless someone makes me aware of a better option.

In Canada we are required to have a gascolator. I also used the Steves on my 7 in the Vans location. Easy to open and clean with the quarter turn lock.

This requires a bit of a deviation from your piping plans, but its a better mouse trap IMHO. Has a thumping good filter.
