Rudder trim tab

Should the trim tab be installed, or wait for flight to see if needed?
I am thinking paint the part, rivets and not drill holes now.

All of the RV-12's I have worked on needed one and for the majority that it gets installed on, the preset angle perfect.

The pre-bent tab I received from Van's was perfect right out of the box for my rudder trim needs. When you install the tab, sneak up on the pull-rivets located near the rudder's trailing edge -- there isn't a lot of clearance there for the rivet's shank until you give it a bit of a squeeze and ease the rivet into final pull position.
