Default carb heat cable - no wear 525 hrs.

So far I cannot detect any wear on my carb heat cable, 250 hrs. Two attachments at FAB and bent wire tang at the lever seems to be working to minimize vibration.

What about the hinge and the door Steve? Any noticeable wear there?

I couldn't detect any hinge wear by hand. Will I be able to feel hinge wear? How best to do the check? With the wire tang the carb heat flap is loaded in the up position, meaning it's tight in up position.

You should be able to feel play in the hinge after 1,000 hours. Expect door wear too.

I replaced hinge with baffle rubber and fabricated new door. It's showing wear again one thousand hours later

Me too, and ditto! My carb heat door is currently in real need of replacement.

Scott I replaced the hinge with rubber per your method couple years ago. Less wear but still... Do you have other idea to reduce it?

Default carb heat cable - no wear, 450 hrs

cleaned the K&N filter by spraying thru the front the of the inlet, this doesn't replace the full disassembly cleaning but temporarily better, water and oil drain at the aft hole the FAB

removed Kansas wheat, flying low, I didn't notice any abnormal CHT or oil temp

Default 650 hrs condition inspection

still, not much carb heat cable wear

30 rpm drop with carb heat as checked yesterday. I needed carb heat last week. 15C - 20C with high humidity is this engine sensitive temperatures.

no wear that I can detect since new.

air filter is beginning to shrink but looks OK and is tight to top and bottom

some green stuff in the manifold pressure line?

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/...pskgmiovwo.jpg

why are the brakes lines blue next to the hydraulic cylinders?

a couple of other shots under.... green stuff in the manifold pressure line low spot

looks like I lost a grommet on a brake line. maybe this is a good way to do an inspection. take pictures and look at it later and take notes. pre-buy inspection guys, do you agree?
