Hello TC,
Shouldn't take a long time to load. I have what I thought was the world's slowest DSL internet service here at home, and I can pan over to Australia and watch it load immediately.
The WiFi weather on the Aera 660 is very fast.
Thanks,
Steve

this is pretty cool, as when I fly I usually have my ipad synced to the 660. I find it easy to rubber band and look at the ipad, change any flightplan on the go. My iPad is LTE, so my question is if the iPad is LTE, will this new feature continue to update the wx en route?
thx
mk

Hi Steve,
very cool feature. I just tried to setup a mobile WiFi hotspot with my android smartphone. The Area660 can see my phone and I can enter the password but unfortunately connection doesn?t work. I get the message ?Failed to connect to AndroidAP?.
Any idea?
Here in Europe we have no other possibility to get the weather in flight but very often Internet in the air around 3000-4000ft. It would be a very great solution and adds more safety in flights!
By the way how often is it the weather updated?
Best regards
gFlyer

Hello gFlyer,
I had never tried connecting this way, but I just setup a WiFi mobile hotspot on my Samsung S5 Android phone, connected the Aera 660, and it worked immediately to update all the weather.
The weather updates are frequent enough to keep up with the availability of new data from the weather server.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi,
Im in Canada, and trying to figure out how to see the back of the VTA in Garmin Pilot for Toronto/Vancouver/etc.
In "other" programs, accessing the documents is easily accomplished. Is there an easy way to access such maps in Garmin Pilot?
I know this isn't really a 660 question, but I can't find any good resources on Garmin Pilot on line.

I second this suggestion.

Hello Carl,
You are welcome!
Many of us like that it is easy to turn on the Aera 660!
To protect against accidental turn-on which could use up the battery, the Aera 660 has a feature to automatically shut down after 5 minutes if it is running on battery power and left on the power up page without user acknowledgement.
We also make a great lightweight yet rigid carrying case for the Aera 660 if you want added protection.
Thanks,
Steve
