Default Relocating to San Diego Area

Hi folks,

I am relocating to the San Diego area and need to find a hangar, and folks to fly formation with, hang out, swap flying stories, etc.... Suggestions?

Gillespie, looks most promising so far...

Thanks in advance!

Hangars are getting pretty tough to find out here but you can try calling Chuck Hall Aviation at Ramona Airport KRNM. 760 789-8178 They might have something available. Although not part of that crowd, there is a group of RV guys that fly formation out of Ramona. Gillespie is a good choice too, if you can find a hangar there.

Hangars are available at Gillespie, but it might take a few months depending on timing. I needed a spare hangar for a few months last year and with a little digging found three or four that were available. Also, plenty of RV formation going on. Welcome to San Diego.

Hi Jeff, We have regular formation practice almost every weekend out of Ramona with 2 FFI leads and 2 FFI wingman on field with others flying in from other parts of SoCal area. Not sure about open Hangars at KRNM. Gillespie is only a 10 min. hop away if you end up with a hangar there.
