Except in this case the literature specifically says to retain one magneto.

A failure of the unit will simply be the same as losing one magneto, and with much less moving mechanical parts it should have a much better reliability.

Advanced leaning or advanced timing? The higher CHT is what is expected from too much advance when ROP, but leaning beyond LOP will drive CHT cooler.

This is my thinking too. I would keep one mag. I love simple...

toolbuilder, yes, timing. (What I was getting at, was if you fire it earlier, the cycle is longer which means more heat in the cylinder for a longer time).
