Intake tube swaging tool
We discovered 2 loose intake tubes on a good friend's RV-6. It's actually Bob Axom's old airplane. Can anyone point us to a place where we might be able to either borrow the tool or take the aircraft to?
Thanks.
Vic

I rented one from Zephyr engines in Florida. The deposit was substantial, but the rental fee wasn't too bad.

As an A&P/IA, you probably don't want to hear this, but a careful cleaning followed by some high temp RTV can last for a decade or more (and counting). Or so I've heard.....

I rented one from G&N Aircraft a few years ago; didn't cost much, but worked well:

Loose intake stubs
I?ve sent oil sumps to Divco before and had them reswedge the pipes.

Vic,
Had the same issue here, and was able to borrow a swaging tool from Kenny at Lycon. Managed to tie it in with an engine delivery to another gent here at home field. You're probably too far from Lycon for that choice, but if you have an engine guy within reach that would be willing, it might be an option. Nice tool for sure!
My success with RTV as I waited for the tool was not so great...short-lived fix in my case. YMMV.
Good luck...hope you find a tool easily!
Cheers,
Bob
