Fun to resurrect this old thread. Way back at post #5, there is mention of Steppenwolf's "magic carpet ride" and an F-18 video. That's my friend and old grad-school mate, Bill "Doc" Shoemaker.

Another mentioned Crosby, Stills & Nash's "Southern Cross". I think that would be my pick. The right balance of adventure, exploration, and experience.

I do not listen to music when I fly, maybe I’m just too much of an Old School guy. I do listen to music on the drive to/from the airport. There have been a lot of good songs mentioned here. One I find entertaining is a silly little song by “The Royal Guardsmen” called “The Airplane Song” is from way back in the 1960’s. I also like their “Snoopy vs the Red Barron.

Here is a link to the Airplane Song

Totally dependent on what your video is? Any number of Spyra Gyra bumper tunes work very well. How about this...... A Looney Tunes or Merrie Melodies 15 second intro, or finis, tied to the 45 second Spyro Gyra - Havana Moonlight? Their instrumentals have several breaks which makes video editing fairly simple. I'm kinda partial to the Looney Tunes theme though. That befuddled Big Eared Bunny has been stuck on both sides of my rudder for the past 7 years.

Make me smile by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel. Also those magnificent men in their flying machines on a lighter note

Did no-one mention 'Stairway to Heaven'.... 'Freebird' ?? - both manage a transition from serene to manic (.. which kinda describes my aeros !).

Excellent! I just downloaded that one from Amazon. You might also like Avenue Brazil by the Dallas Brass. I used that one to accompany my landing in...where else?...Dallas (Addison). https://www.dropbox.com/s/u44wy1tdeg...nding.mp4?dl=0

Edit: OK, here's the video I put together using Havana Moonlight by Spyro Gyra. I was flying West over the NC-TN border and stayed down low to stay out of the hellacious 60 Kt headwinds at altitude. I think the scenery is pretty and the music fits perfectly. Thanks for the tip on the music: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb25ufwrpl...essee.mp4?dl=0

I don't listen to music when I fly. But songs do make their way into my head.

On the flight from Texas, bringing her home, I had the Battle of Britain theme stuck in my head.

When I flew to S. Carolina to visit a friend...633 Squadron.

For acro or formation flying, this song pops into my head - Ry Cooder's "Bomber Blast" from "Streets of Fire" - make a great video:

Wanna jazz your mind up and get into the groove? Listen to "The Blasters":

Default Tangerine Dream

I just downloaded three cuts by Tangerine Dream from Amazon.
Minor Turbulence
Roaring of the Bliss
Dream Phantom of the Common Man
I created one (awesome, if I dare say so myself) video using #3, but it will take a couple hours to upload. It's a SE departure from Page, AZ.
