Default Quality Electrical Tape

I used the best HD tape I could find to mask the canopy to trim the aft edge and after only a short time on the canopy it left some glue behind I had to clean up. Is there a better tape? I'd like to know before I put a double layer of tape on for the the forward canopy fairing; that tape will stay on quite a while.

3M Electrical Tape 35. Used it on many canopies and has never left a residue.

Haven't tried their 35, but I like 3M's 33.

I use it as I would masking tape or blue tape, but this is better than those.

...this should probably be moved to Tips or better yet, Tools, for its general benefit.
