Default RV10 BRS Chute Update

Received this email from the BRS engineering Project Manager:

I?m writing just to give you some updates on the RV10 project evolution. Our previous idea of installing the parachute aft of the baggage compartment proved to be very troublesome in respects to C.G. limits. After some consideration together with BRS engineering team, we agreed that the installation location should be inside the baggage compartment.

We finished the System Assessment Report (SAR) and the documentation is being reviewed by BRS. Meanwhile the Parachute Installation Manual (PIM) draft is been developed as well. Our next steps are to perform the structural analysis based on the parachute opening simulations and the structural reinforcements around the extraction hole (one fuselage stringer will have to be relocated).

He did send some early development drawings with the update. Email me at: bmcglamery@embarqmail.com and I'll send them to you.
