Default Mount A COMM Antenna Under the Wing?

When I re-did my panel, I left my wingtip Marker Beacon antenna intact. Easiest would be to replace it with an archer COMM antenna, but the reviews on this forum have been less than stellar. BTW, The Archer VOR antenna works great
I would like to use the coax already in place, so I'm now thinking of mounting a conventional antenna under the wing rather than the fuselage.
Is this a good or bad idea? Reasons?

Bad idea...... The wing is much harder to access to install a doubler to support the load on the antenna.

The Archer VOR works great because you arn't asking it to function in the wrong position.

I don't see a reason, other than aesthetics, why you could not mount it under the wing or on an inspection panel. It will, as the previous post mentions, require a doubler.

I have my Dynon heated pitot/AOA tube mounted on the outermost inspection plate. Same concept.
