Default Hangar with apartment

Hi to the group. As I have posted earlier it is my wish to have a place in the US to spend 3 to 6 months a year. Previously I have owned a lot in Dayton Nevada but the cost of a home and hanger is out of my reach. my question is are there air parks or county owned airfield lease lots that permit an apartment to be built in the mezzanine of the hangar ?. It would not be big or elaborate just one or two bed room in a small hangar big enough for an single Vans RV 2 seater and a car. I don't mind if its a grass strip and I'm open to location options.

Thank you

Paul Walter

Default Hangar and appartment

How about this?
http://listings.realbird.com/md.aspx...rb_a=l&rb_dl=1

Very affordable and plenty of room.
2 rv hangar owners are located on the field but both only on a weekend bases.
Most airparks with larger rv populations are busy airfields and homes
Or hangar/appartments are very expensive.
Let me know if you are ever in the area and I'll
Show you around

Here's one in central Washington I have an personal interest in. The building CC&Rs are relaxed to even allow mobile homes. But the newer Northeast side of the runway is more upscale by owner choice. There are one or two RV's based there with at least one more soon. There are owners building hangar only structures. 300 days of sunshine a year.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention that, according to some folks I know who live at Long Island Airpark, they allow a dwelling (apartment/home) to be built within a hangar as long as said dwelling is at least 800 square feet.

`````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````
You might want to check out Long Island Airpark just outside of Charlotte in central North Carolina:
http://longislandairpark.org/
It is a very nice airpark with a 3,000 x 100 foot well-maintained grass strip, surrounded by Lake Norman, and has a lot of friendly aviation enthusaists living there. Along with at least a couple of RVs, there are some other neat aircraft including an enclosed cabin Waco, Ercoupe, and the usual Cessna/Piper mix. Due to its proximity to water - some of the airpark lots are lakefront - there is a mix of neat amphibs, both certified and experimental.
Folks are friendly, weather is mild (four season changes, but only snows maybe once or twice a year), and with the vast majority of NASCAR teams based nearby, you get to see a lot of neat cars locally from all of the auto enthusiasts in the area. Another bonus is another airpark about 5 minutes from Long Island - Lake Norman Airpark:
(http://www.airnav.com/airport/14A)
with a 3,000 foot paved runway, plus their is a very active EAA chapter in the area (EAA 309) that is currently building three plane projects - an RV-9A, a Cozy and a single-seat all-wood German glider that will be powered by twin R/C aircraft engines in a pusher configuration.
The continental US, excluding Alaska, is almost 3.2million square miles in size. IMHO you need to have at least a general area where you are interested in looking. NE, NW, SE, SW, NC, SC, Midwest, Rockies, Great Plains, etc???
You could possibly buy a travel trailer or motorhome and park that inside a hangar for short term living arrangements.
wouldn't it be neat if you could find an AirBnB with a hangar.
Default I have a one acre vacant lot for sale
This lot is listed with Steve Chain (airpark specialist) www.chainrealestate.net
This lot has lots of trees, and eucalyptus trees too to make you feel at home.
1.01 acre with septic, and well. I cut a level area to put a hangar.
Direct runway access too.
My hangar with an apartment in it is right next door.
Ernst Freitag who is on the same airport has a completed very nice and large hanger with an apartment in it.
Three RV owners on the airport as well as other experimentals.
Steve
