Default Mounting the Garmin 496

Mornin' all,
I have a 496 (finally) and I'm planning on making room for it in my panel. With the Airgizmos dock, are the wires (power and XM wx) routed from the rear of the dock or does it have plugs that plug into the 496. How do you hide them....tie them up under the dash?

Thanks,

Default Routing

Pierre

I have a 396 mounted in an Airgizmos mount. I mounted the XM and GPS antennas on the glareshield with velcro and put a minimum size hole for the antenna wires in the glareshield near the center post (I have a slider). The wires go out the back of the plastic mounting case. Mine is panel mounted but my friend Victor mounted a 496 (same mount) down low and tilted it up. He made a bracket and ran the wires under the bottom of the panel. That way he didn't need to cut a big hole in the panel. It is much cleaner if you keep the wires behind the panel.
