Default Gear leg / Tire wear

We are getting excessive tire wear on the inside 1/2 of the tires, not getting a full season out of a set of tires, and that is with rotating them on the wheels. Once I ensure that there isn't excessive toe in or out, I want to remove the legs to check that they are square and not bent.

Question is how do the gear legs (long) come off of the motor mount?
It looks like they are pressed in and then dimpled to secure them?

There should be a single bolt at the top that holds them in the engine mount. It should be a 5/16 bolt. AN5 if you like to think AN numbers!!

Sometimes they get drilled out to 3/8 for field repairs, and even other times I have seen them welded in at the top. Hopefully yours are not welded... Welding ruins the temper on the gear legs.
