Default Southern Cal RV-12 Checkouts and Training

To the best of my knowledge, there has not been any "insurance qualified" flight instructors in Southern California to provide transition training or check outs in RV-12's. I have seen many folks in a predicament where they purchased a RV-12 SLSA, but could not obtain insurance until they accumulated the insurance requirement of somewhere between 5 to 10 hours in make and model. Since the insurance companies also require make and model experience for the CFI's, this presented a real roadblock. More often than not, travel to obtain the training was the only choice. Now there is a better solution available. Jeff Goodwin, based at French Valley Airport (F70), can provide you with the necessary RV-12 transition training to meet insurance company requirements. Jeff meets the make and model experience criteria specified by the insurance companies, so you can now use your airplane for training and avoid travel and airplane rental costs.

Jeff is highly experienced CFI/CFII and is the Chief Flight Instructor at EFI, located at F70. He may be contacted as follows:

There is at least one FBO in So. Cal. that has an RV-12 as part of there rental fleet so I imagine there CFI's are capable of giving checkout type dual.

Novato is NorCal, North of San Fransisco, quite a travel distance from SoCal.

I've got about 55 hrs in that plane. 90% of my time is in SoCal now so I don't get to fly it much anymore.
