Default Taxes in Texas

So, I just moved my airplane to Kickapoo airport in Wichita Falls (purchased the airplane Oct '16) for my next USAF assignment.

Being new to airplane ownership... How does the whole tax thing work in TX?

I did some Googling but its all pretty confusing. Any help is appreciated!

What is your state of residence? The Soilder's and Sailor's act applies for active military members.

Move your residency to Texas. No state taxes but a few counties have "personal property" taxes. Check with your county.

Default Wichita Falls???

If you moved to Wichita Falls, move your airplane to F14, Wichita Valley! Cheap gas and a home built Mecca. Look up John Hooker. He owns the airport and has an RV4 and RV10. Great guy! Taxes in Texas??? No way man!

There didn't seem to be any hangar space at Wichita Valley. I will get in contact with him, do you have any contact info for him?

Default A TEXAS state of mind

The state tried back in the 80's to get a property tax going for aircraft and other things. It did not last long. If your not using it for business they don't go after you as of yet. My hart stays in TEXAS and my taxes stay in my pocket.
Hope this helps. Yours, R.E.A. III #80888
