Default GTN650 Com Antenna Shorts?

Finalizing my wiring/avionics set-up and trying to figure out where radio static noise comes from. I have GTN 650 and SV-Com 425
Noticed when I unplug GTN650 from antenna @ antenna noise disappears, when plug it back in noise comes back. I checked cable to make sure it is not shorting between pin and housing, it is all good. However, when cable plugged in to GTN it becomes shorted on the antenna end as if GTN has a short on the inside? Is it normal? Anybody knows?

You have to unplug the BNC from both ends of the coax to check for shorts between the center conductor and the outer shield. If one end is connected to the GTN 650, it's possible that the test on the other end will show a short.

Yes, this is how I tested the cable, both ends unplugged. Question is if it is normal to show "short" once plugged in to GTN. I tested SV-Com 425 and it is "no short" when plugged in to SV-Com.

OK, Thank you. I was little worried about it.
