Default Finishing Plugs and Caps
If you want to fill those somewhat unsightly tooling holes on your RV-12's wing tip bows and stab end ribs, you might want to use the following finishing caps:

-- Hillman Arrow Clips - Nylon (White) #394150-C (for the 3/16" holes)
-- Hillman Arrow Clips - Nylon (White) #394148-A (for the 1/8" holes)

I found these at my local ACE Hardware store.

To seal-up the ends of the foot steps, I used the following plastic end-plugs:

-- Hillman Round Cap Plugs (Black) 3/4"

I found these at LOWE's.

Your picture link isn't working.

When I tried to put plugs in the end of my steps, they kept blowing off in flight. I may try these again if they'll stay put.

Randy -- I think the photos should work now. Three of the step plugs have stayed in place for 300+ hours without glue. I added a touch of contact cement to the left forward step plug since it would occasionally ease out a bit due to my foot hitting it. -- David

Bumping another old thread.

There's a great glue called "Amazing Goop" which I believe used to be called "Shoe Goo" when I was younger (same product as far as I'm concerned) but it's a rubber based glue that holds with the power of epoxy, but has a little give like that of stiff rubber.

I Q-tip and a dab of gas or toluene easily undoes anything glued with this glue, so it's only for non-solvent parts or areas.

Amazing Goop is just that! It's an incredible glue. It does shrink a little when applied thickly.

Where will condensated water escape when you close the tooling holes? Just a thought.

Cessna flap wear buttons work well, too, for the 1/8" holes (if I remember correctly), certainly works on the wing tips and stab end rib tooling holes:

The water pumps pump that water out lol. What? Your steps don't have internal condensation water pumps?

Mine has one of these in each step.
