Default axle extension for RV-10

I'm fitting the wheel pants currently and remember some people saying they put another axel extension on RV10 with Matco wheels. What did use and what is the purpose? Will Vans extension work on Matco wheels?

The Vans supplied extensions will break. Here is what everyone is using. http://www.cleavelandtool.com/RV10-W.../#.V2anhZA8KrV

Also, you might check out the Matco front axle kit....

Definitely don't use the stock extension. It would surprise you if you knew how many people had them break. One person recently contacted me (I designed the one Cleaveland now sells), and told me they broke their 4th one on that plane....and it was time to switch. It's just a plainly inadequate design if you go per plans.

Thank everyone who gave insight on the axle extension. Looks like a change when I get home on extensions!

As option you can get wheel pants from James Aircraft. They are not as wide.
