Default Today's stupid question.

I've searched through the instruction manual for an answer and have come up empty handed.

What does the segmented rectangle symbol mean? Red arrow points to it in the image.

That looks like page 26-06. If it is, then it says 8x.

Are you looking at a PDF of a revision? I sometimes see text goof ups in the printed or displayed PDF's.

Yup, that is a symbol being generated by the viewing software for some reason.

As mentioned already, the original doc says 8X.

Really can not see the detail or the note however it could mean that there are 8 nutplates to install.

If you don't have the same fonts in your machine that were used to generate the pdf, then the viewer tries to pick a substitute. It doesn't always work.
