Default Electric vs. Manual elevator trim for A/P Install

Has anyone run into an issue with installing an altitude holding autopilot and not having electric elevator trim. Years ago the two axis autopilots always self trimmed the elevator but now I'm noticing they just give you an indication when they need trimming. Thanks...

I have a Tru-Trak Vizion system with manual trim. I've seen no problems.
I do trim the aircraft before turning on the A/P.

I have the Dynon SkyView in my -9, which has manual trim and it works fine.

The SkyView just tells you when to trim up or down.

Manual trim works OK with my Skyview' s prompts, but can be a bit wearisome in turbulence. Electric trim is a nice added feature.
