Default Upper Leg Fairing

On pg 46B-15, the plans call for drilling 3 holes to attach the upper leg fairing. I'm OK with the two that get drilled into the lower cowl, but the one that gets drilled into the fuselage is concerning. The way the lower fairing curves there, there is about a 1/4" gap from the hole in the fairing until it hits metal. I'm concerned that when you tighten the screw, it will deform the fairing. Has anyone addressed this yet? Thanks.
