When I saw the picture and then saw Steve's response, I assumed it was from Australia. So I went back and checked. France IS in the northern hemisphere, so it seems like we should be viewing it right-side-up, no?

Dennis,
Depends on which Spit you're talking about...Merlins spin CW (from the cockpit), Griffons spin CCW (anti-clockwise as our British friends would say...).

Welcome to the forums!

Default Painted

Paint scheme is by Jonathon McCormick at http://www.planeschemer.com/. It was tremendous fun working with Jonathon on the many, many iterations that eventually became this design. The paint was done by Art Craft Painting at Santa Maria airport in California (KSMX). Tony at Art Craft is an outstanding painter making sure everything was done to my satisfaction. I did all the dis-assembly (1 day) and reassembly (2 days) with the assistance of my wonderful wife. The paint is AkzoNobel Black Mist and Medium Silver. The green is called Sublime Pearl and is a Chrysler color. The paint process was a little less than 2 months.

Default RV-8 N184GC

I wanted to wait until my RV-8 was painted before posting it here. The paint scheme is my own design. Oklahoma Aircraft Refinishers did a great job of taking my scheme from a drawing to a painted airplane.

This is pretty much a stock RV-8 with a Lyc O-360-A1A, dual P-Mags, a Catto Prop and a few little changes and tweaks along the way.

First flight was April 22, 2015. https://youtu.be/A-cfHShSMRc

It flies wonderfully!
