Default Fuel flow fluctuations

Hi,

My -7 has an interesting issue. At top of climb, leaning mixture, the fuel flow indication is erratic but the settles down 10-15 later.

Check these reports:
No 1
No 2

I'm running a Lycoming IO360 M1B
Garmin G3X with red cube transducer mounted aft of electric pump

Does anyone any an idea why this may be happening?

Does it happen a short time after you turn off the boost pump?

Does the fuel pressure fluctuate around the same time?

Electric Fuel pump is turned off after take off. Mechanical pump has the shroud and blast tube installed for cooling.

Fuel pressure dances around abit but nothing outside or near limits. Pressure and flow don't appear to be connected. EGTs are not affected.

Thanks in advance,

Haydn

Perhaps if you install the fuel flow transducer in the metered fuel line the fluctuations will be eliminated. Putting the flow meter on the suction side of the engine fuel pump introduces a pressure drop to the system.
