Default Pitot Static line and fitting size - big enough?

Got a Skyview, steam gauge and now Mini X all hooked up with Nylo-Seal -4 tube and fittings.
That is 1/4" OD tube with .035 wall . Then there is an insert placed in each tube end before locking it down in the union "T", elbow or whatever you are using. (insert part number is 259-N04.) http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...hanyloseal.php

The hole in this insert is small, just slightly over 1/8".
Is this big enough? What most people are using?
Can you get a seal without using the fitting in the end of the tube?

Thanks

Sure hope so, my pitot tube has an inlet of about that size. So does the one on my Cessna 180.

There is no actual flow through a pitot or static line so the diam. of the opening doesn't matter.
The system works via a change in pressure within the tube.

Default pitot line

Does it matter what type of line is used for pitot/static..i.e. polyethylene line from Home Depot 1/4" O.D. 0.035 wall?
