8" Deburring Wheels??

I have a DeWalt 8" Bench Grinder and was wondering if anyone has ever mounted a 6" Scotch Brite Wheel to an 8" Grinder. Mine has the 5/8 Hole and I cannot seem to find them anywhere. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

They make bushings/adapters to fit the shafts for standard bench grinders.

What I ended up using for deburring was one fine 6" wheel and and one medium 6" wheel mounted to a Harbor Freight buffer on a stand.

Buffer:

stand: https://www.harborfreight.com/universal-bench-grinder-stand-3184.html)

Advantages include easy access to wheel with longer shafts on each side. The medium wheel removes material quickly - very nice when you fabricate a part a little big and need to remove material to get it to size.

Parts like this I always cut with extra material and use the wheels to shape to size and deburr:

I got the HF idea from Synergy Air's class where they had it set up in their shop.

Long answer to a simple question but of all the tools in my shop this one got used the most and saved me a lot of time and aggravation.

The wheels used are Scotchbrite? The fine and medium wheels?

Yes, not included - sourced separately. You will need to do some research on the actual 3M part nomenclature as words like red, brown, tan, fine, medium will not be helpful to find the desired wheels.

The two 6" wheels offered by Cleaveland are representative what you might want. I have these two on a HF buffer - the cheaper one. The 7A (medium) wears like steel - it will polish a file easily.

To the OP question: Here is the catalogue for 3M, they do list some 8" wheels.
