Hangar Broke on me

Weasel

Well Known Member
For those of you not familiar.....here in Mississippi the ground moves all the time. Wet makes it expand, Dry makes it contract. Foundations are a big problem (especially if not built properly) and even if done right many times still fail.

The entire side of my hangar was sinking for years. Concrete broke. If you parked a toolbox on wheels just right sometimes it would start rolling to the wall

What to do??????

The solution is along story... One thing added to another!!!!!!

To lift the side of the shop up and stabilize the foundation, we drilled holes right at the edge of the foundation under each column that holds the building up. 4 places 20 ft apart. This is a 60 ft wall.

The foundation was lifted with Jacks but now what? I don't want the hanger just setting on jacks like a trailer house on cement blocks....

Then the light bulb came on! why not just pour a new concrete slab for an addition? after all the hanger is never big enough!

So that my friends started the out-of-control snowball effects of an addition whether needed or not!

Here Talya and Wilma are checking on the progress.

Jack, that was the first time in my life I was ever to the northwest! Will keep it in mind!! Thanks for the offer!

If you add taxi lines and all at, then you would have to add signage like this too.
