What is the blue item affixed to the right axel in one of your photos?
 
Did you iS guys notice the high- temp RTV around the heat-muff gaps? Another “enhancement” not identified in the KAIs but certainly prudent since they’re prime CO ingress points. The bead of RTV along the SCAT tubing was another one.

Since the heat muff is always at a higher pressure inside than the cowl internal pressure, there is no risk of Co entering the cabin heat system, but sealing leaks can improve the heat performance slightly.
 
Thanks for that explanation, Scott. Since we’re told to seal all of the firewall penetrations, it seemed like those should be addressed too. I guess it’s just prudent practice to seal the firewall.

In that instance, the pressure is higher on the engine side than it is on the cockpit side, so there is risk of gases passing into the cockpit area
