Kudos to the Texoma Race Team

I made a promise to Bob Axsom that I would bring my RV-4FB to a race 'one of these days' but as usual, life got in the way. Well, finally happened that last Saturday I was home, the WX was favorable and I was able to make it to the Texoma 100. My fiancé and I rode our RV up to the race, she got out and I drove around the course with our lawn chairs and gear in the back in our carbureted O-360 Slick mag'd airplane and simply enjoyed the race and camaraderie that was provided by the outstanding SARL staff that makes these things possible. I have to say, considering the small registration fee, I flew away thinking I had received value for my dollars, and a nice trophy and hat to boot!

My only regret was Bob was not there to see that I finally made it. But his spirit was alive and his friends are carrying on the tradition in style! Thanks for the great time and thanks for keeping Mr Axsom's passion alive!

I guess RV-4 Fastbacks are 'fast' enough:

It was great racing with all you new guys. Hope that bug takes hold, maybe y'all can make Llano this weekend, and the upcoming International Air Meet, which is actually a short SARL race, and another 600 mile race, hosted by the queen of air racing Pat Purcell. JJ, you made Bob proud.
